3DM Inc. Invited to Present on Orthopedic & Cardiac Regeneration at Windhover Convergence: Drug Device Conference

Cambridge , Mass. – February 21, 2005 – 3DM Inc. has been invited to present at the Windhover Information Inc. Convergence Summit, taking place in Pittsburgh, PA on March 21-23, 2005. 3DM will join other companies such as Boston Scientific, Medtronic, J&J, Integra, SurModics, Kensey Nash, and Angiotech in presenting the latest roadmap for medical therapies based on combinations of drugs, stem cells and medical devices. Applications across orthopedics, cardiology, regenerative medicine, oncology and neurosurgery stand to benefit from these combinations.

“This conference comes at an exciting time in the convergence of medical devices paired with drug and biologic therapies. Drug eluting stents have pioneered this area and improved interventional cardiology, but we are only at the beginning of this important trend,” stated Zen Chu, President and co-founder of 3DM Inc.

“Just this month, the latest research from Dr. Richard Lee’s lab at Harvard Medical School has been published in Circulation, with promising indications for using PuraMatrix synthetic peptide hydrogels for angiogenesis and cardiac regeneration. ” [ Davis, ME, Motion, JPM, Narmoneva, D., Takahashi, T., Hakuno, D., Kamm, RD, Zhang, S., Lee, RT. Injectable Self-Assembling Peptide Nanofibers Create Intramyocardial Microenvironments for Endothelial Cells. Circulation 111:442-450 (2005).]
